Summary: Use Librariness legally and responsibly. We provide the software as-is and are not liable for data loss. You own your files — we just organize them. Subscriptions are billed through LemonSqueezy and can be cancelled anytime.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Librariness ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Software. These Terms apply to all users including free tier, beta, and paid subscribers.
2. Who We Are

3. License to Use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Librariness on your devices, subject to these Terms. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the Software
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
- Sell, sublicense, or transfer the Software to any third party
- Use the Software for any unlawful purpose
- Share your license key with others
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Librariness offers the following tiers:
- Free Tier — core features available at no cost
- Pro Tier — full features billed monthly or annually through LemonSqueezy
- Beta Access — free access granted during the beta period
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time through your LemonSqueezy customer portal. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.
5. Your Files and Data
You retain full ownership of all files and data on your computer. Librariness does not claim any rights over your files. The Software reads and reorganizes your files based on your instructions. You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your data before using the Software.
Important: Always back up your files before running a sort. While Librariness is designed to be safe, we strongly recommend keeping a backup of important files. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from use of the Software.
6. AI Processing
Librariness uses third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google) to classify your files. You must provide your own API key for these services. Your use of these AI services is governed by their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for the behavior or availability of third-party AI providers.
7. Cloud Storage Integrations
When you connect Google Drive, OneDrive, or Box, you authorize Librariness to access files within the folders you specify. You can revoke this access at any time. We are not responsible for data loss or errors that occur in third-party cloud storage services.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIBRARINESS LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Librariness LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Software or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to Librariness at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the Software ends immediately. You may cancel your subscription at any time.
12. Updates to the Software
We may release updates to the Software from time to time. These updates may be automatic. Continued use of the Software after an update constitutes acceptance of any changes to functionality.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the state in which Librariness LLC is registered.
